About

Hello, I’m Issy McCann

I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I can help clients with a wide range of issues such as abuse, anxiety, bereavement, depression, family issues, low self-esteem and stress, to name but a few.

Having had experience of supporting those with complex mental health diagnoses and learning difficulties, I can offer a real understanding of the barriers some clients face.

I am non-judgemental. I truly believe that anything that has happened in the past doesn’t have to define who you are in the present.

I also believe that the client is the expert when it comes to his or her own life, thoughts and feelings, so I offer a non-directive, empathic and confidential service that aims to support and empower my clients to reflect upon and process their experiences, gain a deeper awareness and understanding, and ultimately could improve their emotional well-being.

“Thank you so much for all the support you have given me in recent weeks which has helped me to find my way back to me. Special thanks for helping me to re-frame and reshape some of my more difficult and residual perceptions about myself and certain situations…I’ve let go of some ideas that no longer serve me. You have helped me to find hope and possibility where there was darkness before…I will forever be grateful for our sessions”
